Cut on the true bias from a silk that was woven for a collection that never shipped. It is the plainest thing we make and the hardest to sew — bias silk moves under the needle, so it is set by hand before it is stitched.
The roll is finished. What was cut is all there will ever be.
Fabric finished
The roll this piece was cut from is finished, and we will not remake it in a different fabric. Leave your size and we will write to you if the same fabric ever reaches us again, or we will show you the closest weight and handle we have now.
Straps cut from the same silk, turned by hand rather than topstitched
Every seam a french seam, 4 mm, so nothing shows through the silk
Hem rolled and stitched by hand after the dress has hung for two days
Close through the hip, falling to mid-calf. Size up if you prefer it loose.
If you are between sizes, send us your bust, waist and hip and we will tell you which to take. Where a size has sold out of the cut run, we can make it for you from what is left of the roll at the same price — the only difference is the wait.
Hand wash cold with a pH-neutral soap, dry flat away from sun. Steam rather than iron.
The full guide covers washing, pressing, storage and what to do when something tears. We repair anything we have made, for as long as you own it, at cost.
